Governor Wolf’s most recent updated the (March 21 at 5:45pm) list of businesses that can/can’t stay open during the COVID-19 crisis now lists bike shops as bicycle repair businesses that can stay open.

Sales are not permitted.

Thank you to all bike shops who submitted exemption forms and contacted their state legislators!  Thank you to other PA bicycle advocacy groups like BikePGH.org and lvcat.org who advocated on behalf of their local bike shops.

Thank you Senators Larry Farnese, Jay Costa and Lisa Boscola for their advocacy, advice and help!!

Thank you Governor Wolf for listening to Pennsylvania’s bike shops!

Beginning Monday, we will reach out to the region’s bike shops to find out which ones are staying open and what precautions are being made to customers safe.

Noticias de última hora: el gobernador Wolf permite que las tiendas de bicicletas de PA permanezcan abiertas para reparaciones 

El Gobernador Wolf actualizó recientemente la lista (21 de marzo a las 5:45 p. M.) de empresas que pueden / no pueden permanecer abiertas durante la crisis de COVID-19 ahora enlista las tiendas de bicicletas como empresas de reparación de bicicletas que pueden permanecer abiertas. Aun que no pueden vender. 

¡Gracias a todas las tiendas de bicicletas que presentaron formularios de exención y se comunicaron con sus legisladores estatales! Gracias a otros grupos de bicicletas PA que apoyaron como BikePGH.org y lvcat.org que abogaron en nombre de sus tiendas de bicicletas locales.

Sarah’s foray into trail and bicycle advocacy began in 2004 when she became involved in the “Free Schuylkill River Park” campaign to preserve public access to the Schuylkill River Trail in Center City, now known as Schuylkill Banks. Since joining the Bicycle Coalition in 2006, she has been a key player in the Bicycle Coalition’s key accomplishments: the $23 million TIGER trail-building grant; naming and building out the Circuit; lobbying successfully for legislation mandating the inclusion of bike parking in new construction projects; Philadelphia’s Complete Streets policy; and coordinating research and analysis of several reports on bicycling in Philadelphia.
