The focus of Community Bikes and Boards lies in its first word: community.
With shops in Philadelphia and Haddonfield, NJ, owner Rob Everitt can work on his mission across state lines: get more people to hit the roads, trails, and waterways.
Everitt opened the original shop in Philly at 712 S. 4th Street in 2010, and wanted to expand to the suburbs with a second shop in South Jersey at 142 Kings Hwy E, Haddonfield.

The lifestyle shops offer many discounts to local workers and students, as well as provide a free first tune up, and also pick up and drop off your bike for free.
Their inventory includes new bikes of all kinds, accessories, and a full stock of children’s equipment.
“The name isn’t fake,” said Everitt, who is determined to support the local bike, skate, and surf culture in Philly and South Jersey through the shop’s community events and friendly shop atmosphere.
Last weekend, the shop hosted a weekend of fun at Ray’s Indoor Mountain Bike Park, encouraging mountain bikers to come “lose a few years off your life.” The Haddonfield shop also hosts weekly ‘Dawn Patrol’ morning surfs, held once a week between Memorial Day and Labor Day.
Community Bikes and Boards also hosts weekly cycling trips, including an intermediate mountain bike trip each Wednesday at 6:30pm, and ‘Trails and Ales,’ a popular ride held every fourth Thursday of the month that winds through Wissahickon Park.
