The Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia will host its annual Bike Light Giveaway TONIGHT at two South Philadelphia locations.

The Giveaway—sponsored by Councilpeople Kenyatta Johnson and Mark Squilla, who respectively represent the west and east ends of South Philadelphia, SEPTA, and Sowinski Sullivan Architects—is meant for those cyclists who do not currently have lights on their bikes.

“I am happy to support the Bicycle Coalition’s bike lights giveaway for the third year in a row,” said Squilla. “South Philadelphia has the highest rates of cycling in in the City and I will continue to support efforts to make our streets safe for the growing number of bicyclists in my district.”

All cyclists are required by law to have a light on the front of their bicycle when riding at night.

We also recommend lights for safety.

We will be giving away front and back bike lights on Washington Avenue on 11th Street and 15th Street, tonight, beginning at 5pm!

Lights are available as long as supplies last—and yes, we usually run out.

Remember: These lights are for people who do not have bike lights currently. See you at 5pm.
