As we slow the wheels and close out another incredible BCYC season, we want to pause and reflect on the journey, the impact, and most importantly the young people who made it all possible. Guest blog by Terrel Bundy, BCYC Alum & Current Intern.

This spring was packed with milestones for our BCYC athletes. Rainy-day practices became bonding moments. Tough trails became personal breakthroughs. Our riders gained confidence, overcame challenges, and built lasting connections with their coaches and each other. They didn’t just grow as cyclists—they grew as leaders and as people.

On May 31st, we wrapped up the spring season with a Fun Day Celebration at the Sedgley Porter House. More than just an end-of-season party, it was a full-circle moment. The day overflowed with smiles, hugs, food, games, and pride as we honored the riders who showed up, pushed themselves, and built something truly special together.

All-Star Coronation

This season’s standout athletes were crowned as BCYC All-Stars not just for their speed or endurance, but for their consistency, leadership, and commitment. 17 new All-Stars received their medals to shouts and applause. These riders will continue to lead group rides, take on new challenges, and mentor the next generation throughout the summer.

Scholarship Recognition

We also celebrated our scholarship recipients—riders who not only impressed on the bike, but demonstrated strong character, academic focus, and leadership beyond cycling. These scholarships are more than financial support—they’re investments in bright, determined futures.

This year we recognized and awarded three riders with scholarship funds:

  • Daa’mir T., who has been with BCYC for four years from MACS High School was awarded $12,000 and will be attending Temple University.
  • Jonathan T., who has been with BCYC for four years from Central High School was awarded $8,000 and will be attending Drexel University.
  • Joshua Z., who has been with BCYC for two years from WB Saul High School, was awarded $8,000 and will be taking a gap year before pursuing higher education.

We celebrate these scholars for their demonstration of BCYC values and advancement in education.
