In May, the Clean Air Council, Feet First Philly, 5th Square, and the Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia unveiled the Recovery Streets platform to serve as a roadmap to safely transform Philadelphia’s street space to improve mobility, public health and safety, and economic well-being.
Join us for a webinar that explores the Recovery Streets platform, examples from Boston’s Healthy Streets initiative, and the progress Philadelphia has made to date plus exciting new initiatives.
All across the world, cities are experimenting with street space from pop-up bike lanes to handle increased demand, to pedestrianizing streets to support outdoor dining and shopping, opening streets for safe, family recreation, and creating space for transit to move smoothly and passengers to queue safely. What does the future hold for Philadelphia?
Philadelphia’s COVID19 recovery is a chance for the City to be a leader in this space and move toward the Mayor’s Vision Zero Goals.
The conversation will be moderated by Philadelphia Inquirer reporter Patricia Madej, and our valued panelists are:
- Councilmember Jamie Gauthier, Philadelphia’s Third Councilmanic District
- Job Itzkowitz, Executive Director of the Old City District
- Chris Osgood, Chief of the Streets, Transportation & Sanitation from the City of Boston
- Kelley Yemen, Director of Complete Streets, Philadelphia Office of Transportation, Infrastructure and Sustainability
