Delaware River Trail plan
Editor’s note: We sent this email out to our members and supporters in the Pennsport area Monday night.
There is a proposed project that could imperil biking and walking access to the Delaware River and future trail.
Tower Investments has applied for a permit to build a convenience store with gas pumps at Delaware & Tasker.
They will be presenting at the Pennsport Civic Association general meeting will be this Wednesday, September 11th, 7 p.m., at EOM, located at 144 Moore St.
In March 2018, Tower Investments withdrew this proposal when it met with opposition from many waterfront stakeholders.
The project violates the Master Plan for the CentralDelaware and could harm the Delaware River Waterfront Corporation’s work building walkable/bikeable streets to access the River and the Delaware River Trail.
Despite this opposition, Tower Investments is pursuing the project again.
If you have the time to attend the meeting, your support of Pennsport Civic to not approve the project would be greatly appreciated.
