On Giving Tuesday, the Bicycle Coalition promised that for every donation we received, we’d give a set of bike lights to children at Juntos, a non-profit in South Philly working to empower the Latino immigrant community.
We raised enough to give away 50 sets of lights to the organization!
Last night, Brenda Hernandez-Torres, the Bicycle Coalition’s Community Liaison, went to JUNTOS, and happily gave away all those bike lights we promised at a safety event.
People from the community came to donate clothes and toys for the women and kids in Berks family detention center and to coexist with everyone else who came in the holiday celebration.
There were kids from different ages and adults who bike in their neighborhoods who we donated the lights to and they where actually in need of so they are really are thankful for the lights.
The kids also had piñatas and there where music and food provided for them.
