We're excited that you're interested in volunteering with the Bicycle Coalition! Through education, outreach, and advocacy, we are improving the quality of life in the Greater Philadelphia Region by making it more bike-friendly. There are many ways you can get involved in this effort.
Volunteers play key roles in representing us at events, in street outreach, and at service stations (coffee- and bike-pump-fueled stops on commuting routes); keeping track of the growth of cycling in Philly through bike counts; and helping us recruit for our yearly Commuter Challenge.
We hold volunteer training nights every month, typically the first Wednesday. At these events you’ll learn what’s involved in helping us with outreach events (sharing and speaking about our work, and listening to concerns about the state of cycling and cyclists in Philly). Then you’ll have a chance to sign up for events in the following weeks. We also frequently do office tasks like envelope stuffing, and chat about bicycling!
In addition to event staffing, we are always on the lookout for engaged men and women interested in contributing their unique skills to the cause of better bicycling. If you have graphic design, web design, photography, community organizing, or other skills you would like to use, let us know!
We cannot do our work without volunteers. We look forward to hearing from you and figuring out how you can best contribute your skills and interests to help us make bicycling in Philly and the region even better!
