Megan grew up in a small town on Lake Michigan. While she loves the beach and fresh water, she is a city girl at heart. After majoring in Organizational Studies at the University of Michigan, Megan moved to Philadelphia to teach middle school social studies. She joined the Bicycle Coalition in 2010 as a Safe Routes Philly Community Representative, where she wrote the program’s curriculum and worked intensely with schools on safety and activity efforts. As Deputy Director, Megan oversees internal program strategy and management.
Outside of work, Megan is a tireless advocate for public education and leads a group that supports her neighborhood school. In 2015, Megan was named one of 55 “Connectors and Keepers” by Leadership Philadelphia and highlighted on Billy Penn’s “Who’s Next” list of education leaders. In August 2015 she received her certificate in Social Impact Strategy from the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Social Policy and Practice.
Megan is a daily bicycle commuter and lives with her partner and her son (born November 2015) in South Philly.
