She has dedicated her life fighting for immigration and social justice and defending human rights as a Mexican community organizer in Philadelphia. Brenda started her advocacy career at the age of 17 volunteering with Juntos as a Youth Advocate, then began organizing and mobilizing in her South Philadelphia community. After graduating from the youth program at Juntos, Brenda began joining and fighting with national campaigns such as Black Lives Matter and Lanzate, an initiative through Mi Jente, a Latinx and Chicanx people that are part of the movement for justice and self-determination for all people.

Shifting her focus to mobility justice, Brenda is now a social justice leader, addressing structural racism and integrating strategies to assist underserved communities through transportation and infrastructure. Using programs such as Bike Share and Equipando Familias en Bicicletas, she is working to guarantee that everyone has access to opportunities, enriching and empowering communities of color and increasing health, in both the Philadelphia region and at the national level.
