Want to get lit up like a Christmas tree this holiday season? Sure you do! To help out,  the Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia will hold our annual Holiday Lights Ride through South Philly on December 18, where riders are encouraged to dress in costume and decorate their bicycles with lights, sparkles, bells and, well, antlers.

The 7-mile leisurely evening ride through the flat Philadelphia neighborhood should probably take about two hours, start to finish, and will be on streets with car and truck traffic.

And since this ride will take place in mid-December, we recommend you dress for the weather—the Holiday Lights Ride can be two potential very cold hours biking in the cold.

Interested? You can RSVP here. If you want to see who else is going, join the Facebook invite, too. We’re going to be hosting two rides: One at 5:15 and one at 5:30.

Bonus: There will be an after-party at SouthHouse at 2535 S. 13th Street. SouthHouse will have Fixed Gear Red Ale on special for us as well as discounts on food. Seriously, what more could you ask for?

Also, if you’re not a member of the Bicycle Coalition yet, there will be membership deals after the ride. Your membership supports our work getting trails and bike lanes built, new bike-friendly laws passed, and holding events like this one! Click here to learn about the benefits of membership.
